Dear Friends of the Kolbe Center,
Glory to Jesus Christ!
I will never tire of thanking God for all of you, the members of the Kolbe Family throughout the world, and for the way that you do not hesitate to “speak the truth in charity” to me and to each other. Last week, I foolishly repeated something that I had probably misunderstood from a conversation with someone at MyCatholicWill to the effect that the one half of all adults who presently have no will in place run the risk of having their property fall into the hands of the godless state. Our good friend, Dave Capan, who worked in the field of estate planning and execution of wills, charitably pointed out that what I had written unthinkingly was quite false. In reality, in the United States each state has its own inheritance laws which control how an estate will be divided if the deceased person dies without a will. In virtually every case, the property of the deceased will go to his spouse or closest relatives, according to a common-sense, natural order. I am very grateful to Dave for his correction—although I stand by my conviction that every adult Catholic ought to have a will that ensures that his estate will be used to build up the Kingdom of God while protecting the wealth of his family.

The Earth Was Made for Man, Not Man for the Earth
Not long ago, the Archbishop of Madrid called for penance for “sins against the Earth,” sounding a note that has been heard more and more frequently in recent years from Church leaders around the globe. Catholic youth all over the world are being taught to think of the Earth as their mother and to imbibe the notion that “the earth does not belong to us; we belong to the Earth.” But this slogan simply serves as one more example of the diabolical disorientation of our times, since it inverts the right order of things that God established from the beginning of creation.
All of the Apostles, Fathers, Popes and Council Fathers in their authoritative teaching held that God created everything for us in our first parents. Indeed, God created everything in six days to give us the pattern and rhythm of a happy, healthy, holy life, and He had no interest in creating stars, planets, plants or animals apart from us. All of the Fathers and Doctors knew this and would have considered the whole idea of long ages in which stars, planets, plants and animals existed without mankind totally bizarre. In the sacred history of Genesis Moses makes clear that stars, planets, plants and animals were created for man’s sake, and while man is expected to be a good steward of God’s creation, he is not subordinated to the Earth, to the cosmos, or to any other creature—only to God.
This understanding of creation has profound implications for our understanding of the Kingdom of God and of our role in extending God’s Kingdom in our every-day lives. When we understand that God created everything for us—in view of the Incarnation and the Immaculate Conception—and that through the Original Sin Adam lost his original dominion over creation and became subject to Satan, we can understand that Our Lord Jesus Christ, the last Adam, had to regain that original dominion for us by His Passion, death and Resurrection, and that through the Holy Spirit in the Church He empowers us to restore all things in Him, “taking back” dominion over all things for God.
As soon as we understand this truth, we come face to face with our responsibility to overthrow the kingdom of Satan and to extend the Kingdom of God through every one of our thoughts, words and actions, not separating the “mundane” aspect of our life from the “spiritual” aspect in gnostic fashion. With this understanding, we can recognize that every time we make a purchase, for example, we are either extending or undermining the Kingdom of God. If we have a choice to purchase a commodity or a service from a faithful Catholic or from someone who promotes the anti-culture of death, and we choose to buy from the anti-Catholic vendor because his price is a little better or it is simply more convenient to purchase from him, we are undermining the Kingdom of God.
One of the many evil effects of embracing theistic evolution or progressive creation is that both of these errors condition children to believe that the Earth, stars, planets, plants and animals existed for anywhere from tens of millions to billions of years before the first humans evolved; and this error, in turn, conditions them to think of themselves as peripheral in the cosmic scheme of things, an afterthought in God’s plan for the universe. Yet nothing could be farther from the truth! From Genesis to Revelation, God’s inerrant Word drives home the truth that we are the apple of His eye and the reason why—in view of the Incarnation and Immaculate Conception—everything else exists.

A few years ago, I had the privilege of interviewing Kenyan obstetrician Dr. Wahome Ngare who has helped to revive an association of Catholic scientists in his country to conduct natural and physical science and medical research and practice on a truly Catholic foundation. He pointed out that Muslims in Kenya and elsewhere have done a much better job than Catholics of leveraging their economic and social influence by striving to purchase goods and services exclusively from fellow Muslims. One of the greatest drains on the resources of the traditional Catholic community around the world is the cost of higher education which literally siphons off tens of millions of dollars from the Kingdom of God into the coffers of institutions most of which are hell bent on destroying the last vestiges of Christian civilization and building a godless secular humanist New World Order. It is high time that faithful Catholics followed Dr. Ngare’s cue and began doing an end run around these godless institutions and developing our own ways of educating and training our youth so that we can keep them and the rest of our precious resources out of the kingdom of Satan and inside the Kingdom of God.
Indeed, it is not only secular humanist colleges and universities that undermine the Kingdom of God. Almost all of the Catholic colleges and universities in the western world teach the principal dogma of secular humanism—molecules-to-man evolution—as if it were a proven fact. In this way, they join forces with the godless secular universities in teaching students to embrace what St. Pius X in his encyclical Pascendi called “the principal doctrine of the modernists,” thus weakening the foundations of their faith and making them vulnerable to all kinds of attacks on their moral and spiritual lives.

Hold Fast to What Was Handed Down
One of the greatest tragedies of our age is the failure of many Church leaders to hand on the Faith as it was handed down to us from the Apostles and their willingness to teach or to go along with errors in faith and morals that destroy the spiritual and moral foundations of the souls entrusted to their care. By the grace of God, the same technology that is being used by the demonic forces to destroy families and nations through the propagation of error and evil is being used by the Immaculata to propagate the Catholic Faith. At the very moment when this newsletter was released, I began a podcast with the young adult Catholics who have launched a Discord server to promote the Catholic Faith on the foundation of the true Catholic doctrine of creation. If you join the Discord server at this link you will find the podcast being streamed at 2 p.m. Eastern time this afternoon, and you will see how intelligent, devout, and charitable are the young people associated with this mission. The host of last week’s podcast on the Discord server was a convert from Islam named Russel who gave me permission to publish his testimony:
I was born and raised in a Muslim family in the UAE, and a few years ago I moved back to India. Life took a difficult turn in 2019. I went down a dark path, made choices I regret, and reached a point where I had lost all hope. Just when I was about ready to give up completely, something unexpected happened—I encountered God.
It’s hard to put into words, but when I began thinking about Jesus and His sacrifice, I felt an overwhelming peace unlike anything I had ever known. It was as if light broke into my darkness. In that moment, I knew I wasn’t alone anymore. I started learning about Jesus and Christianity, and in my heart, I realized I had found God—or rather, that He had found me. My guilt and shame were lifted, and I became a new person in Christ.
At first, I considered myself non-denominational, taking time to pray and study the origins of Christianity. The more I learned, the more I saw the truth: The Catholic Church is the original Church, founded by Christ Himself. No matter the trials or times of corruption, the Church has endured, producing countless saints who gave their lives completely to God. The history, the miracles, and the unbroken tradition were undeniable. I could not be part of the thousands of denominations that separated from the Church—my heart belonged to the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.
Today, by God’s grace, I am Catholic. I am learning to be content in all circumstances, trusting that God is always with me. As Scripture says: ‘In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus’ (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
This is my testimony: I was lost, but Christ found me. I was broken, but He healed me. I was without hope, but He gave me life. All glory to God! The books that really helped me take the step to convert were Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus by Nabeel Qureshi, Captive in Iran by Marziyeh Amirizadeh, and The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel. I also watched hours of videos by Sensum Fidelium debunking Islam. Brother Mukund told me about the Kolbe Center for the Study of Creation, which led me to affirm the traditional Catholic doctrine of creation.
This beautiful testimony illustrates how those who truly repent of their sins and receive the supernatural gift of Faith easily accept God’s Genesis Revelation. And that is why we hope that more and more traditional Catholics around the world will support our work with their prayers and regular financial support, so that we can reach millions of Truth-seekers like Russel, even as we help to solidify the foundations of the Faith of our own children and grandchildren. The difference between the faith of young Catholics who are taught the traditional doctrine of creation and those who are not was driven home to me a few days ago when I received an email from a supporter who has a Master’s Degree in Theology and Bioethics. He wrote:
I now know that the Church is losing many young people because of a collective amnesia regarding the true teaching about creation. I have successfully passed this truth on to my four youngest sons, but I must admit that my two oldest children are not as warm to this truth, as their minds have been filled so long with either false teaching or the lack of any such teaching; and this has left them in what I would call a perpetual state of skepticism regarding things not scientifically verifiable or not openly approved by the current Church hierarchy.

Seek First the Kingdom of God
One of the ways that the Kolbe Center has tried to put our “Kingdom vision” into practice has been to transfer the processing of donations and web store payments from Paypal, a leading sponsor of the anti-culture of death, to Cornerstone, a Christian company. If any of our readers run or help to administer organizations that process donations or on-line payments through Paypal, please contact me so that I can refer you to the right people at Cornerstone to see what they can do for your organization. Our webmaster Keith Jones has also made an important contribution to this movement by developing a Catholic alternative to Zoom and other secular companies that provide on-line conferencing. Keith takes his company name from 1 Corinthians 13:12 which reminds us that “We see now through a glass in a dark manner; but then face to face,” and that on-line communication is a poor, but sometimes necessary, substitute for face-to-face personal communications. Please encourage your friends and family to use Cor1312.com for all of their on-line conferencing from now on. You can sign up easily at the Cor1312 website.
In recent years, we have also worked with Kolbe supporters all over the world to launch the Christ the King Service Network, a global network of traditional Catholics who will eventually, God willing, be able to educate and professionally train its young people within the network thus keeping our precious resources within our community and withdrawing support from the monstrous engines of secular humanism and the anti-culture of death. If any readers of this newsletter are interested in working with us to develop this vision, please write to me at [email protected] and I will be happy to share more of the details of our plan and invite you to join with us in prayer and action to bring it to fruition.
In the next six weeks, we will have many opportunities to proclaim the true Catholic doctrine of creation in Kentucky, Michigan and Florida, so I hope that you will go to our Events page, take note of any seminars that would be convenient for friends or family to attend, and spread the word.
Through the prayers of the Mother of God, may the Holy Ghost lead us all into all the Truth!
Yours in Christ through the Immaculata, in union with St. Joseph,
Hugh Owen
P.S. Our thirteenth annual leadership retreat will take place at the same place as this year’s leadership retreat—the Catholic Conference Center in Hickory, North Carolina—from July 3 to July 9, 2026, and will include a celebration of our Catholic heritage in America on the 4th of July. The retreat is open to all Catholics (and their families) who are committed to advancing the mission of the Kolbe Center in their spheres of influence. If you would like more information about the schedule, facilities, and suggested donations for the retreat, please email me at [email protected].
