Creation and Time

Creation and Time is an important work. It offers powerful reasons for holding that the modern belief in evolution, even 'theistic evolution', is alien to Catholic tradition. Of particular interest is the authors' careful analysis of the teaching of the Fourth Lateran Council. Appealing to authoritative commentaries on this Council, as well as later magisterial texts, they make a strong case that, centuries before Darwin, the Church had already definitively ruled out the idea that the multiplicity of created things, and man himself, came into being long ages after the original moment of creation.
